Just Say Yes! Leader Guide Unleashing People for Ministry【電子書籍】[ Robert Schnase ]

In Just Say Yes! Robert Schnase shows church leaders how to unleash
people for fruitful ministry. He teaches leaders to spot their own
nay-saying, and gives specific instructions for reversing the culture of
‘No’ that has become so prevalent in many churches. Step by step,
Schnase shows readersーpastors, other church leaders, and congregantsーhow
to make significant change in their attitude and actions, to become a
permission-giving church.

This set of resources is the next step in the author’s effort to reshape
church leaders across the mainline denomination. Just Say Yes! Becoming
a Permission-Giving Church give church leaders what they need in order
to begin implementing the principles in the original book. It starts
with a group study experience for church leaders, facilitated by a
senior leader (typically the pastor). The study can be done in as little
as 3 hours or, if groups watch all the videos and do all the optional
exercises and activities, up to 6 hours total. The sessions can be used
as a single-day retreat or broken up into 3 or 6 separate sessions. They
can be stand-alone sessions, or incorporated into meetings for staff
and lay leaders.

The Leader Guide includes instructions and guidance for leaders in
planning, hosting, debriefing and following up after the experience.
Using this resource, plus the included customizable PowerPoint slides
and the video Stories of Permission, a pastor or other key leader can
effectively facilitate an extraordinary group experience resulting in
transformation for the congregation.

The Participant Guide is a complete workbook and devotion guide for
church leadersーstaff and laityーwho participate in the Permission-Giving
group experience. These will typically be church councils, staff teams,
committee chairs, ministry team leaders, and the like. The Guide
includes prompts to reinforce the material shared in the videos and by
the facilitator, questions for reflection and discussion, and specific
action steps for becoming permission-giving leaders in the church. It
includes plenty of room for writing and note taking during the group
experience. It also includes a 30-day Devotional, which the participant
can complete either during or after the group experience. The group
experience includes 6 inspiring and compelling videos from real church
settings. Several additional video clips are also available, for groups
wanting to spend more time exploring ideas together.

A printed 4-Week Devotional is also available, and can be used by
individual church members autonomously, or (ideally) used by every
member as a personal study guide accompanying the 4-Week Sermon &
Worship series. The material is flexible and accessible for all adult
readers, and can be done in one sitting or spread throughout the week.

This study consists of a Leader Guide, Participant Guide, DVD, a
Devotional Guide and free Customizable Downloadable Resources. The DVD
has 8 video stories showing the Permission-Giving Church in action, 3
brief videos essays demonstrating the essentials of a permission-giving
church and 1 video promo for inviting participation in the Just Say Yes!
experience.

Autos and Progress The Brazilian Search for Modernity【電子書籍】[ Joel Wolfe ](3)

Autos and Progress reinterprets twentieth-century Brazilian history through automobiles, using them as a window for understanding the nation's struggle for modernity in the face of its massive geographical size, weak central government, and dependence on agricultural exports. Among the topics Wolfe touches upon are the first sports cars and elite consumerism; intellectuals' embrace of cars as the key for transformation and unification of Brazil; Henry Ford's building of a company town in the Brazilian jungle; the creation of a transportation infrastructure; democratization and consumer culture; auto workers and their creation of a national political party; and the economic and environmental impact of autos on Brazil. This focus on Brazilians' fascination with automobiles and their reliance on auto production and consumption as keys to their economic and social transformation, explains how Brazil--which enshrined its belief in science and technology in its national slogan of Order and Progress--has differentiated itself from other Latin American nations. Autos and Progress engages key issues in Brazil around the meaning and role of race in society and also addresses several classic debates in Brazilian studies about the nature of Brazil's great size and diversity and how they shaped state-making.

Dwalen in het antropoceen【電子書籍】[ Ren? ten Bos ](3)

Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism and Other Religions of China【電子書籍】[ Herbert Allen Giles ](3)

This book deals with history of the religions in China.

The problem of the universe has never offered the slightest difficulty to Chinese philosophers. Before the beginning of all things, there was Nothing. In the lapse of ages, nothing coalesced into Unity, the Great Monad. After more ages, the Great Monad separated into Duality, the Male and Female Principles in nature; and then, by a process of biogenesis, the visible universe was produced.

Divination seems to have been practised in China from the earliest ages. The implements used were the shell of the tortoise, spiritualised by the long life of its occupant, and the stalks of a kind of grass, to which also spiritual powers had for some reason or other been attributed. These were the methods, we are told, by which the ancient Kings made their people revere spirits, obey the law, and settle all their doubts. God gave these spiritual boons to mankind, and the sages took advantage of them...

Under the influence of Confucius, B.C. 551-479, the old order of things began to undergo a change. The Sage's attitude of mind towards religion was one of a benevolent agnosticism, as summed up in his famous utterance, "Respect the spirits, but keep them at a distance...
The Bhagavad Gita【電子書籍】[ Sir Edwin Arnold ](3)

The Bhagavad Gita, meaning the Song of the Lord, is in the form of a poetic dialogue between Arjuna and Krishna. It is part of the great Indian epic 'The Mahabharata', and is one of the major religious documents of the world. It reveals how human beings accumulate 'Karma' as a result of their actions in innumerable incarnations, and how to achieve liberation through devotion and knowledge.
The dialogue, which takes place on the eve of an historic battle, probes the nature of God and what man should do to reach him. As 'The Bhagavad Gita' unfolds, this majestic poem provides a fascinating synopsis of the religious thought and experience of India through the ages. This book offers the classic English verse translation by Sir Edwin Arnold (1832-1904), long admired for its evocation of the true feeling of the original poetry.

About the Author:
Sir Edwin Arnold (1832-1904), was an English author. After serving as principal of the government college in Pune, India, he joined (1861) the staff of the 'London Daily Telegraph'. He won fame for his blank-verse epic 'The Light of Asia' (1879), dealing with the life of Buddha. The poem was attacked for its alleged distortion of Buddhist doctrine and for its tolerant attitude toward a non-Christian religion. Besides other volumes of poetry, he wrote a number of picturesque travel books and translated Asian literature, inclding 'The Bhagavad Gita'.
Being in Flux A Post-Anthropocentric Ontology of the Self【電子書籍】[ Rein Raud ](3)

Reality exists independently of human observers, but does the same apply to its structure? Realist ontologies usually assume so: according to them, the world consists of objects, these have properties and enter into relations with each other, more or less as we are accustomed to think of them.

Against this view, Rein Raud develops a radical process ontology that does not credit any vantage point, any scale or speed of being, any range of cognitive faculties with the privilege to judge how the world ‘really’ is. In his view, what we think of as objects are recast as fields of constitutive tensions, cross-sections of processes, never in complete balance but always striving for it and always reconfiguring themselves accordingly. The human self is also understood as a fluctuating field, not limited to the mind but distributed all over the body and reaching out into its environment, with different constituents of the process constantly vying for control.

The need for such a process philosophy has often been voiced, but rarely has there been an effort to develop it in a systematic and rigourous manner that leads to original accounts of identity, continuity, time, change, causality, agency and other topics. Throughout his new book, Raud engages with an unusually broad range of philosophical schools and debates, from New Materialism and Object-Oriented Ontology to both phenomenological and analytical philosophy of mind, from feminist philosophy of science to neurophilosophy and social ontology.

Being in Flux will be of interest to students and scholars in philosophy and the humanities generally and to anyone interested in current debates about realism, materialism and ontology.
