Fremdsprachenunterricht hat also instrumentelle Sprachbeherrschung als Ziel. Ein wichtiger Teil des Unterrichts ist die Wortschatzvermittlung. Diese umfa?t zwei Aspekte, zum einen die Bedeutungserkl?rung, zum anderen die Memoration der W?rter (vgl. Cornu 1981, S. 95). Gerade bei der Wortschatzvermittlung spielen interkulturelle Bedeutungsunterschiede eine wichtige Rolle, denn in der Regel wird gerade die kulturelle Dimension einer Sprache das eigentliche Lernziel sein. Schlie?lich kann erst ?ber die Kenntnis kultureller Besonderheiten eine fremde Sprache richtig in ihre Kontexte eingeordnet werden, damit der Lernende soziale Handlungsf?higkeit erlangen kann. Diese umfa?t politische, soziale, ethische und ?sthetische Aspekte. Demzufolge mu? im Fremdsprachenunterricht eine Strategie des Fremdverstehens vermittelt werden, ohne die die Vermittlung einer kommunikativen Kompetenz ein leeres Unterfangen w?re, d.h. landeskundliche Aspekte bzw. kulturspezifische Besonderheiten m?ssen unverzichtbarer Teil des Fremdsprachenunterrichts sein. Die vorliegende Arbeit befa?t sich mit Bedeutungserkl?rung im Deutsch als Fremdsprache- (DaF) Unterricht. Die Arbeit gliedert sich in drei Hauptabschnitte. Im ersten Teil (Kapitel 2) wird auf die Wortbedeutung und ihre Verankerung in landeskundlichen Kontexten eingegangen. Im zweiten Teil (Kapitel 3) werden verschiedene Techniken und Methoden zur Bedeutungserkl?rung (Semantisierungsverfahren) vorgestellt. Die verschiedenen Verfahren der Bedeutungsvermittlung haben die Funktion, Lernenden die Semantik unbekannter bzw. neuer W?rter und Strukturen zu erschlie?en. Sie schaffen die Voraussetzungen f?r die weiterf?hrende Arbeit mit dem Wortschatz. Herausgearbeitet werden soll, da? diese Verfahren eine wesentliche Voraussetzung f?r die weiterf?hrende Arbeit am Wortschatz sind und hinsichtlich ihres Einsatzes didaktische Konsequenzen erfordern.
